How to Start a Crew Before Early Access
Use NBA 2K HQ and community tools to organize your squad before August 26 Early Access — builds, roster, chat, and recruitment.
Early Access opens August 26, 2026 at 9:00 AM PT, but squads do not have to wait until then to get organized. Here is what you can do now using official tools and community resources — without inventing in-game menu paths 2K has not published.
1. Download NBA 2K HQ (Aug 21)
NBA 2K HQ launches August 21, 2026 at 8:00 AM PT on iOS and Android.12 Sign in with the same 2K account you will use on console.
Requirements: iOS 18+ or Android 11.0+ (min API 30); persistent internet required.12
2. Create MyPLAYER Builds
Use the in-app MyPLAYER Builder to create up to 15 builds.12 Builds do not auto-push — you import them when you sign in on your console platform later. Share builds via QR codes or links.1
3. Organize Your Crew in the App
NBA 2K HQ includes full Crew management — invites, roster controls, real-time messaging, and friend list tools — so captains can lock in a squad before The City opens.12
Track Daily Leaderboards and Crew Rewards from the app once seasons begin.1
4. Know What Opens in The City
When Early Access or launch clients go live, Crew HQ becomes your squad's home base:3
- Built-in voice chat
- Practice courts (1v1 through 5v5)
- Ranked Crew matchmaking (3v3 and 5v5)
- Squad Showdown Kiosk for private runs and league play
5. Use Community Tools
2K does not ship a public in-game Crew directory. Community sites fill the gap:
- Post Looking for Players or Looking for a Crew listings on our Crew Finder
- Browse sourced crew rosters from official X announcements
- View Pro-Am lineups as teams post starting fives
Sourced crews on this site have 0-0 preseason records. Only five fictional example crews carry sample standings on rankings.
