Squad Showdown: How Crews Will Run Private Games and Leagues
The Squad Showdown Kiosk inside Crew HQ lets squads host private runs and league-style competition — separate from ranked matchmaking.
Ranked Crew matchmaking is not the only way squads compete in NBA 2K27. Squad Showdown — accessed through a kiosk inside Crew HQ — is where private runs and organized league play happen.
What Squad Showdown Is
The Squad Showdown Kiosk sits inside Crew HQ alongside practice courts and ranked matchmaking.1
Per 2K:
"Beyond ranked matchmaking, the Squad Showdown Kiosk inside Crew HQ lets players host their own private runs and league play."1
Players can invite players from other Crews and compete with or against them in casual games.12
Distinct From Ranked Matchmaking
Ranked Crew games climb six tiers through official matchmaking. Squad Showdown is player-hosted competition — the path for league organizers who previously scheduled Pro-Am runs outside the game.
NBA 2KW notes that Squad Showdown "brings elements of the old Pro-Am experience directly into Crew HQ."3 Console PC Gaming coverage describes it as bringing Pro-Am-style competition into the team hub.2
